Ball Popper and PB

I waited until this past month to give peanut butter to Emma.
I first gave it to her on crackers, but today she
had her first official peanut butter sandwich!
You can tell from her expression that she enjoyed it!
Yay, now that's one more thing I can pack for her lunch!

Last Thursday when I picked Emma up from
Mother's Day Out, she was pushing a ball popper toy
around. She seemed to enjoy it, and later at home
she was pushing kitchen utensils the same way!
On our way home from Baton Rouge last weekend, we
stopped at Wal-Mart to get her one of her own.
As you can see, she LOVES it!
I think I'll look into getting a toy vacuum for Christmas!

Here Kitty Kitty

Emma LOVES to go outside. Today was especially fun because
we meet some new friends. There were about 5 little kittens playing
in our next door neighbors' flower beds. Our fence has a small hole at
the bottom, so two of the playful kittens made their way to our
backyard for some fun. Emma was so cute with them!
She said, "hello kitty kat." and would laugh and laugh
while they ran around playing.
She thought it was funny when they climbed the tree!
I guess I'll be going to buy some cat food to put outside
so our little friends will come back to see us!

More Funny Buisiness

J-E-L-L-O

Emma likes to carry baskets and bags around and say
"bye-bye". I guess she notices that every time we leave
I have a purse and her diaper bag!

"More please!" is Emma's new favorite phrase
Here you can see she has a mouth full already, but
is requesting more Cheerios!
Also, the bow was a joke. I put in a big bow to see what it looked like,
and she just kept wearing it.

Big shoes

Emma has a thing with shoes. She always brings
us our shoes, no matter where they are in the house, she
finds them and brings them (always to the right person)
to us to put on. Sometimes it means she wants to go outside
and ride in her car or go in the back to play, but lately
she has decided to put them on herself!
It is funny to watch her actually try to walk around in the
big bulky shoes, especially Jason's! Mine are usually flip-flops
and she has to try to get her toes in the right place.
Too funny!!!

Sunglasses

Emma has been cracking us up this week wearing these sunglasses.
She got one pair for her birthday from her cousin Callie, but
never really wanted to wear them. Then this week for some reason
she brought them to me and wanted me to put them on her.
She walked around for what seemed like 10 minutes
wearing them! I was afraid she might run into something!
I think dress up clothes are in the near future!

Fun!

Emma's Big Day!

Today was a big day for Emma and her mommy;
it was the first day at Mother's Day Out!

We had to start the day with a good breakfast.

Dressed and ready!

Here we go!

Emma's teachers said she didn't eat much lunch,
so she was pretty hungry when we got home.

After "school" snack; yummy!
Over all it was a pretty good first day.
Her teachers said she cried off and on,
didn't eat much lunch, and only napped
30 minutes, but she was not crying
when I picked her up!
And for everyone's information, I did not cry!
I kept busy and got some errands and house cleaning done,
but watched the clock constantly!

At Last!

The long awaited update! I'm surprised I didn't get phone calls or e-mails from my followers!
It is fitting that my last blog was of Emma walking across the house, because life certainly changed once she became a walker! And I might add that we are down to one nap a day, so that leaves mommy little time to do anything extra! Things have been non-stop, but so much fun!
Above is a slide show of some of the highlights over the past month. Jason and I actually left Emma for the first time longer than one night and took a week long vacation to California. It was awesome!!! We had a great time, but were glad to get back to our sweet little girl. And indeed she is that. She's not a baby anymore, but a little toddler who loves to explore, climb, and dance and play! Her newest tricks are climbing, feeding herself, and amazing us with her rapid growing vocabulary and understanding! Enjoy!

Little Emma Walker

We knew it was coming, Emma just waited until she
was ready. And when she was ready, she took off!
The past two weeks Emma has been walking around the house
exploring all by herself. That's right, no more dragging
Mommy all over the house!
Jason caught a quick video of her tonight walking
from one end of the house to the other.
The end of the video shows her new favorite thing to do,
besides walking everywhere, closing doors!

Four Wheeler Riding and Kayaking

For 4th of July weekend, we went with Jason's family to Watson, Oklahoma
and stayed in a nice big cabin overlooking Mountain Fork River.
We had so much fun!
Emma enjoyed checking out her cousin Austin's toys, one of her favorites;
the battery powered 4-wheeler!
While Mommy and Daddy enjoyed kayaking for the first time!
It was a very nice place and we hope to go back again someday.
