Too Sweet!

Emma is such a great big sister!

She loves helping out by bringing us diapers to change Anna and putting the dirty ones in the diaper pail!

She has been so sweet to Anna and loves to give her hugs and kisses.

So far she has shown no signs of jealousy and only seems to be bothered when Anna cries:
"It's loud!" she says! :)

Welcome Anna Kate Nichols!

I realize I'm a few weeks late with this! But I was having trouble getting pictures uploaded.

Welcome Emma's baby sister: Anna Kate Nichols!

Born November 18, 2010
1:50PM
7 lb 9 oz
20 1/2 inches

We are so blessed by both of our beautiful girls!

Pumpkin Patch

Emma had lots of fun at the pumpkin patch.
It was a perfect evening for it; nice weather and not too crowded.
We picked a nice big one to carve, a little one for decorations, and a turbin.

Pig tails and sunglasses

Emma loves to wear her hair in pig tails,
and actually it keeps the hair out of her face better
than any other hairstyle we've tried.
She also loves to wear glasses!
Sunglasses, reading glasses, and daddy's safety glasses!
I can see a dress up trunk in the near future!
Poor daddy... no boy toys, just princesses, tea parties, and dress up!

Big Sister in Training!

Today we went to visit my friend Heather and the
newest addition to the Berry family, baby Abrahm.
Emma was so cute holding him!
She's going to be a great big sister!

Beach trip for Mommy and Daddy

We had a great time on our couples trip to the beach!
It was the most relaxing vacation we can remember taking!
We went with 3 other couples from our Sunday School Class:
2 from Shreveport and 1 from Colorado Springs.
We had a blast just hanging out and having uninterrupted
conversations, sleeping in, eating out with no high chairs,
and staying up late playing games!
Of course we missed Emma and were excited to get back
home to see her!

Oodles of fun

This summer has really gone fast! I can't believe it's already August!
It has been the hottest summer too!
We have tried to stay cool and do inside activities and eat lots
of popcicles and Icees!
Emma is getting so big! She is definitely a 2 year old!
She has a mind of her own and lets you know exactly
what she wants, when she wants it!
We are progressing in potty training and just
this week have celebrated her accomplishments
with some new cotton training panties!
She did great for two whole days, including nap time, with
no accidents, but hit a little bump on day three.
Practice, practice, practice!
One of my current projects is getting Emma's big girl room ready.
Instead of doing a new nursery for Baby Girl 2 (no name yet), we've
decided to give her Emma's baby room and move
Emma to a big girl room! I'll post when we get it done, hopefully this month!

and to have an ultrasound to find out the gender of Baby 2.

Emma was right...

It's a girl!

More fun in the sun

We love Popsicles!!!

Toddler Bed

We did it!
We converted Emma's crib into a toddler bed!
We had been talking about it for a while and
this weekend when we were at Jason's parents
she took a nap in the toddler bed at their house and did great.
So when we got home Jason took off the front of her bed and put on the
toddler rail. When Emma saw it for the first time
she was so excited! She said, a new bed! She has done great with it.
She has napped and is now currently asleep in it
for the first night. She hasn't tried to get out yet.
We told her to call for us to come get her when she's ready to get up,
which is what she did in the crib.
She is becoming little miss independent and wants to
do everything by herself and gets very upset if
we try to help her. I guess we've finally reached
the no stage, we hear that word a lot these days!
It will be helpful when the baby comes that she
is able to do more by herself, we just have to work
on the attitude and the occasional tantrums! :)
Terrible twos are here!!!
But the terrible times are out weighed heavily by the cute things she does;
Singing lots of songs, always dancing, and saying the funniest things!!!

Summer Fun!

Emma has been having lots of fun playing and
we've been able to capture some pretty cute pictures.
It is so much fun to watch her play.
She's really getting good at playing with
her dolls and Little People toys making
them talk to each other and interact. It is so cute!
We've signed up for a mom and toddler water
class which she loves! And we've enrolled in
Gymboree for the summer session. Emma
loved the music class we attended, next week we'll
do Art and Gymboree.
We are trying to find fun inside things to do this
summer to stay out of the heat!
We will find out on June 21st if
Emma is getting a baby brother or sister.
When we ask her what she thinks,
she says she's getting a sister! We'll let you know!

Big News!

Emma is going to be a big sister!!!
Baby Nichols 2 is due November 22nd.
They will be a little over 2 1/2 years apart.
I had a check up yesterday and got an ultrasound.
At 10 weeks you could already
see the baby's arms and legs kicking and moving around!
We should find out in 8 weeks if Emma is getting a brother or sister.
We'll keep you posted!

Emma's 2nd Birthday!

This year Emma's birthday fell on Easter.
We had an egg hunt at our house on Saturday with some
of her friends. Then on Sunday we went to Springhill
and continued celebrating with family.
It was a fun and busy weekend!
I can't believe she is 2!!!

Spring is Here!

St. Patrick's Day at the Park

On St. Patrick's day Emma and I went with my friend Kari and her little girl Kyleigh
to play at the duck pond. The girls had so much fun playing together and looked
so cute in their matching green.

ABC's

Emma shocked us the other morning at breakfast when she started saying the abc's!
I think it has to do with her obsession with watching Elmo and India sing the abc
song on U-tube and her Leap Frog Fridge Phonics toy.
She has always liked the ABC song, this was just the first time we'd heard her
say it unprompted and without help! Wow!
Yes Uncle Zach, I do realize she skipped a few letters, but we are working on that! ;)
But at 22 months old, this was quit an accomplishment!

Winter Wonder Land

Once again I have let too much time pass since my last post.
I apologize! Here are some of my favorite pictures from January and February.

In case you didn't know it, Emma is a little character.
She is constantly cracking us up and amazing us at the same time.
She loves to wear gloves, mittens, socks, and wrist bands on her hands!
In the morning when we get her out of bed, she usually has taken one sock off and put it on her hand. So silly! She also loves to wear hooded towels around the house after bath time; she calls it her hat. I guess we'll have to invest in some dress up clothes for her birthday!
