Mommy's Little Shopper

Since Emma is doing such a good job at
sitting up independently, I thought we'd test out the shopping cart cover
at the grocery store.
She seemed to enjoy being able to look around with a
better view of all the colorful items on the shelves.

Quack quack

Emma got a new bathtub this week.
It came highly recommended by her friend Malloy
and her cousin Austin.

She had so much fun testing it out, we couldn't wait till bath time!

Wow, this tub holds more water than my old one!

Bath toys are fun!

I love my ducky!

A week of firsts

Out of curiosity, I put a bow in Emma's baby mo-hawk as we call it.
She is getting some more hair, and the middle is getting longer, but
I think we're not quite ready for bows yet!
Maybe by Christmas she'll have a little more hair!

Emma sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time this weekend.
We used our shopping cart/high chair cover to make it cushy and clean.
I think she enjoyed being on our level and sitting more upright.
She's been sitting in a high chair at home for a while now,
but in restaurants we'd just kept her in her car seat in a chair beside us.

So big!
Emma tested out her new sippy cup today.
She did pretty good holding it, but we are still working
on the sipping part.

Adult Supervision?!?

The following incident took place
while Pappaw and Daddy were left in charge!

Hmm... What is this Pappaw has here?

O-R-E- oh no!

Evidence... if you click on the picture and make it bigger
you can see the black cookie crumbs on Emma's face!

More cookies please.

Happy Halloween!

My Mommy thinks I'm Purrfect!

Emma and Daddy greeted trick-or-treaters
while Nana and Mommy passed out candy.
There were over 700 trick-or-treaters!

Emma loved her jack-o-lantern and Halloween teddy bear!

Squash anyone?
Although this year we didn't go out trick-or-treating
it was still a fun first Halloween!

Look who's sitting up!

What a big girl!
Emma loves to play with her bird bath toy.
She likes to make the birds sing and the bee buzz.

Emma and Sadie

Wow! Emma was impressed that Sadie could sit up all
by herself. Later that evening, Emma demonstrated
that she could too!

Hello friend!
Emma enjoyed "playing" with her friend Sadie.
Sadie is two months older than Emma, in case the
hair didn't give it away!
Emma was very interested in watching Sadie crawl around.
Now that Emma is sitting up by herself, it won't
be long before she's crawling around too!

Pumpkin Patch

Emma enjoyed checking out all of the pumpkins!

Our little Pumpkin with Raggedy Ann;
Too cute!

We took Emma to the pumpkin patch this week
so we could pick out a pumpkin for our pumpkin carving party.
We managed to get a few cute pictures, even though Emma was
getting sleepy and the sun was going down.

Tiny Shoes

What are these?

Emma wore shoes for the first time today.
She was very interested in looking at them and touching them.
They were very soft, more like slippers than shoes.
She apparently got tired of wearing them because
when we picked her up from the nursery at church they were in her bag!
I have to agree, it's much more comfortable to go around barefooted!

Pears Please!

Emma had her first taste of baby food this past week.
The doctor suggested we start with fruit: pears or apples.
We chose pears.
As you can see, Emma enjoyed them!
She gets so excited when she sees her spoon.
Unfortunately, rice cereal didn't agree with her tummy, but
so far the pears have seemed fine.
