Pretty as a flower

Emma got this adorable little outfit from her
Aunt Lacey and I have been waiting for the perfect day
to take some pictures. Our back yard was
nice and green after a big rain, so we went
out. I was so pleased with the results!
I took about 80 pictures!
Emma did great posing;
she was very interested in the flowers!

Dining Adventures

Meal time is always entertaining.
Emma eats with her fingers more, which can
make for some pretty messy dinners!
Sometimes I have help cleaning up the food
she drops from our four legged family member Tigger!

New shoes and hair bows. Beep beep!

It took a year, but Emma finally has just enough hair for a small hair bow!
Maybe now the people in the grocery store
will stop thinking she's a boy!
She has also been wearing shoes in
preparation for her first steps.
She LOVES to walk around the house
with us holding her hands. I think if we'd let her
she'd do it all day long until our backs gave out!
We went this weekend to have her feet measured
and buy "appropriate" walking shoes.
We even took a picture and let her wear her new shoes home!
Aside from walking us all over the house, her favorite thing to do
is ride in her new pink car that she got for her birthday from her
Aunt Lacey, Uncle Zach, and Cousin Austin.
She crawls up to it and starts honking the horn to let us know she's ready for a ride.
She tolerates riding in the house, but prefers to cruise outdoors!
She even has a special driving hat to keep the sun out of her eyes!

Happy Easter!

This was Emma's First Easter.
We went to Mammaw Shirley and Pappaw John's
for lunch in Springhill.
The weather was messy, so we just stayed inside. It was even sprinkling during the picture of us outside. You can tell Emma looks happy... ha ha
She did enjoy playing with her cousin Garrett and
showing him her new shopping cart.
Hopefully next year will be nice and we can go outside and hunt eggs!

Happy Birthday Emma!

This past Saturday was Emma's 1st Birthday.
She had a special day celebrating with her family and friends.
She looked so adorable in her
birthday dress and matching hat!
Jason and I weren't sure what she'd
think about the birthday cake,
but as you can see, she thoroughly enjoyed herself!
She was even kind enough to share with her daddy.
It was a special day that we'll always remember.

Dancing

Emma loves to dance!
Anytime her toys play music she starts dancing.
Jason took this video last night. It is priceless!
We are having so much fun
with our happy little girl!

Catch me if you can!

Emma is exploring the whole house now that she can crawl!
Tigger is not sure what to think about her
new mobility!

Poor Little Pookie

On Friday Emma seemed very tired and pookie.
I took her temperature and it was 102.2!
We called the doctor, but couldn't get in until the next morning.
I gave her Tylenol and let her relax in her pjs all day.
Since she was sick, she also got to watch Dora on tv and
hang out in her swing, which she hasn't been in for several months!
By that evening she seemed to be feeling better.

The next morning we went to the doctor.
She wasn't running any fever, but they took blood
to make sure she didn't have a virus.
She really liked the purple band-aid the nurse gave her.
After the doctor checked her, it turns
out she has an ear infection in one ear.
So she got a shot and has to take
Amoxicillin twice a day.
Luckily she's like her mom and likes the taste!
And she's back to her old self, crawling all over
the place and playing with her toys. :)

11 Months Old!

The past 11 months have gone much too fast!
We can't believe our baby girl will be 1 year old in a month!
She amazes us everyday with the new things she learns to do.
Her newest thing is crawling on her knees, and she moves fast!
She has crawled all the way from her bedroom to the front door!
She goes on all surfaces: carpet, tile, and wood; with no problems.
Now I just have to make sure I keep all of the floors clean!
We are getting more adventurous and trying new "people foods"
She's still not sure about meat, her Daddy says maybe she's a vegetarian.
We'll keep working on it.
For now she still loves, juice, yogurt, fruit, vegetables, and her cookies.
She is sleeping later these days, probably from all of the hard work
of crawling around all day. And we've had to lower the bed to the lowest setting.
She learned how to pull herself up in the bed one night!
She is really playing with all of her toys now, pushing all of the buttons
and learning how they work.
And she finally has 2 teeth poking through, but
I haven't managed to get a picture of them yet!
